Black Spy is a trick-taking game - a film-noir detective version of Hearts designed by Alan R. Moon (of Ticket to Ride fame).
Each round, players take turns playing cards following the lead suit (colour, in this case) if possible. Highest ranked suited card wins. The player that wins the trick takes all cards, and leads the next trick. Scores are tallied at the end of the round. When someone hits 200 points, the player with the lowest score wins.
Black cards vary between 1-5 points, with the exception of the six #7 (yes, there are six of them!) black spies being worth ten points each. Other coloured #7s are worth -5 points. And in the event of a tie for a trick being between black #7s, the first played card ranks the highest.
The rules also have suggestions for a few different rule variations. Black Spy is for 3-6 players and will take around 45 minutes to play.
